FERAVELI
Feraveli describes individuals who enjoy the aesthetic of nature and animals. The word "feraveli" came from latin "fera" (animal, wild) and Finnish "veli" (meaning brother or ally/fellow).
"TYPES" OF FERAVELI
These are some terms you can use to describe your aesthetic. It is not obligatory to use them. You can be just "feraveli".
Habitat/biome relatedExample:Forest feraveli means you enjoy the aesthetic of forests and forest animals. This works with any biome, ex. desert feraveli, mountain feraveli (or more specifically, ex. lake feraveli). It can be also fantasy feraveli, mythical feraveli, paleo feraveli, fictional feraveli etc., It's not limited to anything.Season relatedExample:Autumn feraveli describes an individual who enjoys the aesthetic of autumn/fall and the animals commonly associated with it.Time relatedExample:A night feraveli is someone who enjoys the aesthetic of nature during the night and nocturnal animals.Weather relatedExample:A fog feraveli enjoys the aesthetic of the fog and the way animals look in it.+ Many, many other versions you can possibly think of.
WHAT CAN (but doesn't have to) BE FERAVELI?
- Dressing up in what you think fits your chosen aesthetic (example, a forest feraveli might choose to dress fairycore because they thought it matches forests/foresty aesthetics or vibes.)- Dressing up "as" your chosen aesthetic for fun, like cosplay (example, a forest feraveli who dresses up forest-y for events like conventions, or just occasionally for fun. This includes feravelis who consider animal masks, tails, ears, quadrobics, etc as a part of their aesthetic.)- Liking rooms/decorations that remind you of your chosen aesthetic (example, I have a lot of pictures, plants, crystals and decorations in my room because it reminds me of nature and/or animals.)+ A lot more! Feraveli isn't supposed to be "limited" to anything. As long as you enjoy the aesthetic of animals and nature, you can call yourself a feraveli. No matter the "extra steps".
BEFORE YOU ASK...
Isn't it just kemonomimi/otherpaw?- Nope! Kemonomimi refers to "humans with animal features" (such as tails, ears, paws, etc.) or the aesthetic of it. Otherpaw is about roleplaying and dressing up as an animal, rather than the aesthetic of nature.
They aren't mutually exclusive though! You can still be a feraveli while being a kemonomimi or an otherpaw.Do you have to be an otherkin to be a feraveli?- No! Feraveli is for everyone. Also, you don't have to be a feraveli if you're otherkin. Is xyz feraveli a thing?- If you want it to be, yes! As long as it fits into the definition.Do I have to like nature/animals to be feraveli?- No, liking the aesthetic is enough for you to be feraveli.
